Community Service Recognized Student Organizations

What do we do?

With more than 60 recognized student organizations dedicated to service at the University of Chicago, UCSC provides financial, organizational, and leadership support via Community Service Recognized Student Organizations (CSRSO). Access to funding and transportation is also available to other Recognized Student Organizations doing service in the broader community.

How You Can Get Involved:

Join a Community Service Recognized Student Organization (CSRSO). From working local youth to Alternate Spring Break Trips to supporting local health clinics, there are a broad range of opportunities. Click here for a list of CSRSOs with contact information.

Community Service Fund


Funding is available for Recognized Student Organizations volunteering with community organizations. CSF supports activities designed to improve the quality of life of the broader community. Click here to complete an application for Spring 2010 Quarterly Allocations.

Access to Community Service Vans

UCSC provides access to 3 Community Service Vans for Recognized Student Organizations to transport volunteers to and from service projects in the 6-county metropolitan area. For information on becoming a certified van driver or using a Community Service Van, stop by UCSC's office or contact us at ucsc@uchicago.edu or 773/753-GIVE.
